COACH WITH WESTSIDE

Help shape the next generation of Westside players

Westside Panthers is a volunteer-run football club, and our coaches play a vital role in creating positive experiences for players of all ages.

Whether you're an experienced coach or stepping into the role for the first time, we'd love to hear from you.

No coaching experience? That's okay.

Many of our coaches started by helping their child's team or putting their hand up when a team needed support. The Club can help connect you with resources, guidance and other volunteers.

WHY COACH?

Make a difference

Help players develop their football skills, confidence and love of the game.

Support your team

Be someone your players can look up to, while helping create a positive and welcoming team environment.

Learn new skills

Coaching is a great opportunity to develop your communication, leadership and football knowledge.

Be part of Westside

Coaches are an important part of our Club community, working alongside players, families, volunteers and other coaches.

WHO CAN COACH?

Anyone can get involved.

You might be:

  • A parent looking to help with your child's team

  • An experienced coach looking for a new Club

  • A former player wanting to give back

  • Someone who has never coached before but would like to learn

  • An experienced coach interested in helping develop other coaches

We have coaching opportunities across MiniRoos, juniors and seniors, including head and assistant coaching roles.

You don't have to be an expert to get started.

OUR COACHING PHILOSOPHY

At Westside, coaching is about more than winning football games.

We want our coaches to help create an environment where players:

  • Enjoy playing football

  • Develop their skills and understanding of the game

  • Are encouraged to try, learn and improve

  • Feel welcomed and included

  • Respect their teammates, opponents, coaches and officials

  • Are supported regardless of their ability or experience

WE ONLY DO POSITIVE

We want every player, coach, volunteer and family to have a positive experience at Westside, both on and off the field.
